Iden Versio serves as the commanding officer of Inferno Squad, an elite special forces unit within the Galactic Empire’s military structure. Born into Imperial loyalty as the daughter of Admiral Garrick Versio, she initially embodies the Empire’s ideals with unwavering dedication. Her tactical brilliance and combat expertise earn her recognition amongst the Empire’s most capable operatives, leading dangerous missions across the galaxy with calculated precision.

The destruction of the second Death Star at the Battle of Endor marks a turning point in her worldview. When Emperor Palpatine’s posthumous Operation: Cinder begins targeting Imperial worlds and civilians, Versio witnesses the true nature of the regime she has served. The systematic destruction of her homeworld Vardos becomes the catalyst that shatters her Imperial allegiance, forcing her to question everything she once believed.

Following her defection, she joins the New Republic alongside fellow Inferno Squad member Del Meeko, with whom she later starts a family. Their daughter Zay represents hope for a generation free from the Empire’s shadow. Years later, as the First Order rises to threaten galactic peace, Versio answers the call to serve once more, this time fighting for the Resistance.

Her final mission takes her to the Starkiller Base system, where she makes the ultimate sacrifice to help the Resistance locate Emperor Palpatine’s hidden fleet on Exegol.
