How it works

Discover is a collection of free interactive tools built for anyone who watches films and TV. Each one solves a different problem — from picking what to watch tonight to visualising how a franchise holds up across decades of releases.

Every tool pulls live data from The Movie Database, which means ratings, posters, and streaming availability stay current without manual updates. The UK streaming filter across Pick a Movie and What to Watch is specifically built for viewers in Britain, showing which services carry each title right now.

What’s included

Pick a Movie randomly selects a film or TV show based on genre, decade, and whichever UK streaming services you actually subscribe to. Useful when the group chat has been going back and forth for twenty minutes and nobody can commit.

Spin the Reel is a horizontal film reel spinner loaded with poster artwork from over 25 franchises. Choose a franchise, hit spin, or build a custom reel from any films you like.

Rate the Run turns episode ratings into colour-coded heatmaps for TV shows and poster timelines for movie franchises. It makes it immediately obvious where a show peaks, where it drops, and whether that final season really was as rough as people say.

Binge Calculator takes any TV show or movie franchise and tells you exactly how long it would take to watch the whole thing — adjusted to your own pace.

What to Watch surfaces trending films and TV shows updated regularly, giving a quick snapshot of what people are watching right now.

All five tools cross-link to each other, so if the Binge Calculator tells you Breaking Bad will take 49 hours, you can jump straight to Rate the Run and check whether it’s actually worth the time.
