Portrayed by Matthew Wood
This pale-skinned Twi’lek serves as the scheming majordomo to the galaxy’s most notorious crime lord, Jabba the Hutt. With his distinctive head-tails and calculating demeanor, he manages the day-to-day operations of the criminal empire from the shadows of the palace on Tatooine. His role extends far beyond simple administrative duties, as he frequently manipulates situations to his own advantage whilst maintaining an facade of loyal servitude.
Originally hailing from the Outer Rim world of Ryloth, this cunning individual rose through the ranks of organised crime through a combination of political acumen and ruthless pragmatism. He orchestrates everything from slave trading to smuggling operations, using his position to gather intelligence and eliminate rivals. His mastery of manipulation proves particularly effective when dealing with the various bounty hunters, smugglers, and other unsavoury characters who frequent Jabba’s court.
The majordomo’s expertise in treachery becomes evident during the events surrounding Luke Skywalker’s rescue mission at the Sarlacc pit. However, his story doesn’t end with his master’s demise aboard the sail barge. Years later, he seizes control of the vacant throne, transforming from servant to master in a bold power play that demonstrates his patient, long-term planning.
Matthew Wood brings a distinctly sinister quality to the character through subtle vocal work and deliberate movements that convey both subservience and underlying menace. The portrayal emphasises how this seemingly secondary figure operates as a true power behind the throne, making him one of the galaxy’s most effective criminal operators.
