Born on the ocean world of Kamino in 32 BBY, Commander Cody served as one of the Republic’s most capable clone officers during the tumultuous final years of the Clone Wars. As a high-ranking member of the 7th Sky Corps and leader of the 212th Attack Battalion, he commanded thousands of clone troopers in battles across the galaxy, earning recognition for his tactical prowess and unwavering loyalty to the Republic.

Distinguished by his distinctive orange-marked armour, Cody developed a close working relationship with Jedi General Obi-Wan Kenobi, serving as his second-in-command throughout numerous campaigns. The partnership proved highly effective, with the commander’s military precision complementing the Jedi’s strategic insight. Their collaboration reached its peak during the siege of Utapau, where Republic forces successfully cornered the Separatist leader General Grievous.

However, the commander’s greatest moment of recognition came through tragedy. When Emperor Palpatine executed Order 66, Cody immediately turned on Kenobi without hesitation, ordering his troops to fire upon the Jedi Master during their victory on Utapau. This pivotal scene in Revenge of the Sith demonstrated the devastating effectiveness of the inhibitor chips implanted in every clone trooper.

Portrayed by Temuera Morrison, the character represents the complex moral landscape of the prequel era, embodying both the loyalty and ultimate betrayal that defined the clone army’s role in the Republic’s transformation into the Empire.
