Saw Gerrera stands as one of the galaxy’s most uncompromising freedom fighters, whose decades-long battle against tyranny transformed him from a young partisan into a cybernetically-enhanced extremist. Born on the jungle world of Onderon, he first took up arms during the Clone Wars when Separatist forces occupied his homeworld. Under the tutelage of Clone Captain Rex and Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, Gerrera learnt guerrilla warfare tactics that would define his militant approach for years to come.

Forest Whitaker’s portrayal brings a haunting intensity to this battle-scarred veteran, whose physical deterioration mirrors the moral compromises of prolonged warfare. Years of conflict left Gerrera dependent on cybernetic enhancements, including a reinforced right leg, pressurised armour, and a rhydonium-powered respirator that supplies oxygen to his damaged lungs.
