Portrayed by Eman Esfandi
Ezra Bridger emerges as one of the most compelling Force-sensitive characters to develop during the dark years of Imperial rule. Born on Empire Day in 19 BBY on the Outer Rim world of Lothal, his early life took a tragic turn when his parents, Ephraim and Mira Bridger, were imprisoned by the Empire for their anti-Imperial broadcasts. Left to survive alone on the streets, he developed into a skilled thief and con artist, using his unconscious Force abilities to stay one step ahead of both Imperial forces and local criminals.
His destiny changed dramatically when he encountered the crew of the Ghost, a small rebel cell operating on Lothal. Under the guidance of Kanan Jarrus, a former Jedi who had survived Order 66, Ezra began formal training in the ways of the Force. His raw talent proved both remarkable and dangerous, as his emotional connections often led him toward the dark side. Throughout his training, he wielded a unique lightsaber of his own construction that doubled as a blaster, reflecting his unconventional approach to Jedi traditions.
As part of the Spectres and later Phoenix Cell, Ezra played crucial roles in early Rebellion victories whilst grappling with increasingly powerful Force abilities. His journey culminated in a desperate gambit to liberate Lothal, during which he made the ultimate sacrifice by disappearing into hyperspace with Grand Admiral Thrawn aboard a pod of purrgil space whales. Taylor Gray’s voice performance captures both the character’s youthful determination and growing wisdom throughout Star Wars Rebels and his later appearance in Ahsoka.
