This ancient droid serves as the galaxy’s premier lightsaber instructor, having taught Jedi younglings the art of constructing their iconic weapons for over a thousand years. With his distinctive angular frame and professorial demeanour, Huyang possesses an encyclopaedic knowledge of lightsaber construction techniques, crystal properties, and the personal fighting styles that each design accommodates. His vast memory banks contain detailed records of nearly every lightsaber ever built, allowing him to identify a weapon’s creator simply by examining its craftsmanship.

During the Clone Wars, the droid operated aboard a specialised training vessel, guiding young Padawans through the sacred ritual of gathering crystals and assembling their first lightsabers. His teaching methods blend patience with dry wit, often delivering cutting observations about his students’ techniques whilst maintaining genuine care for their development. Despite his mechanical nature, he demonstrates remarkable insight into the spiritual aspects of lightsaber construction, understanding that each weapon reflects its wielder’s connection to the Force.

When the Jedi Order fell, Huyang entered a period of dormancy until Ahsoka Tano reactivated him decades later.
