This affliction, which he contracted as a young child, shaped his entire life whilst also giving him unique insight into the dark creatures he teaches students to defend against.

During his own school years, Lupin formed the notorious Marauders alongside James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew. These friends discovered his secret and became Animagi to keep him company during his monthly transformations, demonstrating the loyalty that would define many of his relationships. His academic brilliance and kind nature made him a natural mediator within the group, though his condition often left him feeling isolated from his peers.

As an adult, Lupin dedicated himself to fighting against Voldemort’s forces through the Order of the Phoenix, despite facing widespread discrimination due to anti-werewolf legislation.
