Captain Phasma

Standing nearly two metres tall in gleaming chromium armour, Captain Phasma cuts an imposing figure as one of the First Order’s most formidable military commanders. Born on the harsh planet Parnassos in 6 ABY, she rose from the wasteland tribes of her homeworld to become the leader of the First Order’s elite stormtrooper training programmes. Her distinctive metallic armour, fashioned from chromium salvaged from a Naboo yacht once owned by Emperor Palpatine, makes her instantly recognisable on any battlefield.

Portrayed by Gwendoline Christie, Phasma serves directly under the command of General Brendol Hux, overseeing the conditioning and combat readiness of countless stormtroopers. Her ruthless efficiency and unwavering loyalty to First Order doctrine earned her a position of significant authority within the organisation’s military hierarchy. The captain’s background as a survivor of Parnassos’s brutal tribal conflicts shaped her into a pragmatic leader who values strength above sentiment.

Throughout the sequel trilogy’s opening films, Phasma demonstrates her tactical prowess and merciless approach to maintaining order. Her confrontations with former stormtrooper Finn reveal both her dedication to the First Order’s cause and her personal investment in the training programmes she oversees. The character’s striking visual design and commanding presence established her as one of the sequel trilogy’s most visually memorable antagonists.

Despite her formidable reputation, Phasma’s story ultimately ended in 34 ABY during the tumultuous events that saw the First Order’s power structure begin to crumble around Supreme Leader Snoke’s inner circle.
