Ted Tonks represents one of the most quietly courageous figures in the wizarding world’s fight against blood purity ideology. Born into a Muggle family in the early 1950s, he discovered his magical abilities and attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, though his house placement remains unknown. His fair hair, green eyes, and gentle demeanour masked a remarkably brave individual who would face extraordinary challenges for his blood status.

The wizard’s most defining act was marrying Andromeda Black, a pure-blood witch from one of the most notorious wizarding families. This union caused such scandal that Andromeda was disowned and blasted from the Black family tree, severing her ties with relatives including future Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange and Narcissa Malfoy. Together, Ted and Andromeda raised their daughter Nymphadora, who inherited her mother’s Metamorphmagus abilities and would later join the Order of the Phoenix as an Auror.

When Lord Voldemort returned to power, Ted’s Muggle-born status made him a prime target for persecution. The Muggle-Born Registration Commission forced him into hiding, separating him from his family during increasingly dangerous times. His life came to a tragic end in March 1998, when he was captured and killed by Snatchers while attempting to evade the regime’s anti-Muggle-born laws.
