Shaak Ti

A striking Togruta Jedi Master from the planet Shili, Shaak Ti served the Galactic Republic during its final, turbulent years. Her distinctive blue and white head-tails and vibrant red skin made her easily recognisable amongst the Jedi Order, whilst her calm demeanour and tactical acumen earned respect from peers and clone troopers alike.

During the Clone Wars, she took on the crucial responsibility of overseeing clone trooper training on Kamino, the ocean world where the Republic’s army was bred and prepared for battle. This role placed her at the heart of military operations, where she balanced the clinical efficiency demanded by war with the Jedi principles of compassion and individual worth. Her interactions with clone commanders revealed her belief that each soldier possessed unique value beyond their identical genetics.

The character met various fates across different Star Wars media, reflecting the complex storytelling approaches of the expanding universe. In some versions, she fell victim to Anakin Skywalker during his transformation into Darth Vader at the Jedi Temple, whilst other narratives saw her survive Order 66 only to face different challenges. These alternate destinies highlight how the character’s story evolved as the franchise grew.

Voiced by Tasia Valenza in The Clone Wars animated series, Shaak Ti brought a measured wisdom to her appearances. Her portrayal emphasised the character’s role as both warrior and teacher, someone who understood that victory in war required more than lightsabre skills—it demanded preserving the very values the Republic claimed to defend.
