Cal Kestis

Cal Kestis represents a new generation of Force-sensitive individuals who came of age during the Empire’s brutal purge of the Jedi Order. Initially trained as a Padawan under Jedi Master Jaro Tapal during the Clone Wars, his early promise was shattered when Order 66 turned clone troopers against their Jedi commanders. The traumatic loss of his master forced the young survivor into hiding, where he suppressed his Force abilities to avoid detection by Imperial Inquisitors.

For years, Kestis worked as a scrapper on the industrial planet Bracca, dismantling decommissioned Republic vessels whilst concealing his true identity. His carefully maintained anonymity crumbled when he instinctively used the Force to save a colleague, drawing the attention of the Empire’s Jedi hunters. This pivotal moment thrust him into a galaxy-spanning adventure alongside the crew of the starship Stinger Mantis, including former Jedi Knight Cere Junda, who became his new mentor.

Under Junda’s guidance, Kestis began rebuilding his connection to the Force and mastering lightsabre combat techniques that had been stunted by years of suppression. His journey took him to ancient Jedi temples and forgotten worlds, where he uncovered secrets about the Force and confronted the Empire’s relentless pursuit. The young Jedi’s experiences with various resistance groups, from partisan cells to underground networks helping Force-sensitive refugees, shaped his understanding of hope and sacrifice in the galaxy’s darkest era.

Kestis embodies the struggle of rebuilding something precious from fragments of the past whilst forging a path towards an uncertain future.
