Portrayed by Harrison Ford
This Corellian smuggler transformed from a street orphan into one of the galaxy’s most renowned pilots and heroes. Born into poverty, he survived by joining the White Worms criminal gang before briefly serving in the Imperial Navy, where his insubordination and moral compass led to his discharge and imprisonment. After escaping with fellow prisoner Chewbacca, the pair formed an unbreakable partnership that would span decades.
Operating the Millennium Falcon with his Wookiee co-pilot, the smuggler built a reputation for completing impossible runs whilst accumulating substantial debts to dangerous crime lords like Jabba the Hutt. His life changed dramatically when he accepted what seemed like a simple transport job from Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker, inadvertently becoming entangled in the Rebel Alliance’s fight against the Empire. Despite his initial reluctance to join causes beyond personal gain, he played crucial roles in destroying both Death Stars.
His relationship with Princess Leia Organa evolved from antagonistic banter to romance, eventually leading to marriage and fatherhood. However, their son Ben’s fall to the dark side as Kylo Ren devastated the family, driving the former smuggler back to his old ways. Years later, he emerged from semi-retirement to aid the Resistance, ultimately confronting his son in a final attempt at redemption that cost him his life.
Throughout his adventures, he mentored younger heroes including Rey and Finn, passing on both piloting skills and hard-earned wisdom about survival and heroism in an unforgiving galaxy.
