Standing over two metres tall with distinctive purple and white striped fur, Garazeb Orrelios represents one of the last surviving members of the Lasat species. Born around 44 BBY on the planet Lasan, he served as an honour guard to the royal family before his world fell to Imperial forces. The traumatic destruction of his homeworld and people drove him to join the early Rebel Alliance, where he became a formidable warrior fighting against the Empire that had decimated his species.
As a member of the crew aboard the starship Ghost, Orrelios operated under the rebel cell known as the Spectres. His imposing physical presence and combat expertise made him invaluable during dangerous missions, though his gruff exterior often masked a deeper sense of loss and responsibility for his fallen people. The Lasat warrior wielded a traditional bo-rifle, a weapon that could function both as a staff for close combat and as a blaster for ranged attacks.
Voice actor Steve Blum brought gravelly authority to the character, capturing both the warrior’s fierce loyalty and his underlying vulnerability. Following the fall of the Empire, Orrelios continued his service with the New Republic, eventually joining their Starfighter Corps and rising through the ranks to Alliance High Command.
His appearance in The Mandalorian marked a significant moment for fans of the animated series, showing the character’s continued dedication to protecting the galaxy’s fragile peace in the post-Imperial era.
