Vincent Crabbe serves as one of Draco Malfoy’s primary enforcers throughout his years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Born into a pure-blood wizarding family between 1979 and 1980, Crabbe demonstrates fierce loyalty to those he considers his superiors, though his intelligence rarely matches his physical intimidation tactics. The Sorting Hat places him in Slytherin House, where he quickly establishes himself as part of Malfoy’s inner circle alongside Gregory Goyle.
As a student, Crabbe shows little academic prowess but excels in areas requiring brute force rather than finesse. He secures a position as Beater on the Slytherin Quidditch team, where his aggressive playing style proves well-suited to the role. During his fifth year, he joins Dolores Umbridge’s Inquisitorial Squad, relishing the opportunity to intimidate fellow students with official backing. His boggart takes the form of Lord Voldemort, revealing deep-seated fears despite his family’s Death Eater connections.
Crabbe’s trajectory takes a darker turn during the Second Wizarding War, as he begins practising Unforgivable Curses and grows increasingly independent from Malfoy’s influence. This newfound confidence proves fatal when he attempts to use Fiendfyre against Harry Potter in the Room of Requirement during the Battle of Hogwarts. Unable to control the cursed flames he conjures, Crabbe perishes in the inferno at just seventeen years old, becoming one of the war’s youngest casualties.
Throughout the series, Jamie Waylett portrays Crabbe as a hulking presence whose limited dialogue emphasises his role as muscle rather than strategist in the Slytherin hierarchy.
