Mace Windu

A formidable Jedi Master from the jungle world of Haruun Kal, Mace Windu served as one of the most respected members of the Jedi High Council during the final decades of the Galactic Republic. Born in 72 BBY, he trained under the tutelage of Masters Cyslin Myr and T’ra Saa before ascending to the Council himself, where his tactical brilliance and unwavering dedication to justice made him a trusted advisor to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine.

What sets this Jedi apart is his mastery of Vaapad, a dangerous lightsaber combat form that channels one’s inner darkness whilst maintaining control through disciplined focus. This rare technique, combined with his natural Force abilities, makes him one of the most skilled duelists in the Order. His distinctive purple lightsaber blade reflects his unique approach to the Force, walking the line between light and dark without falling to either extreme.

Throughout the Clone Wars, Windu commanded Republic forces alongside his former Padawan, Depa Billaba, demonstrating both strategic acumen and personal courage in battle. His relationship with Anakin Skywalker remained complex, as he recognised the young Jedi’s potential whilst harbouring concerns about his emotional instability and unconventional methods.

The character’s defining moment came during the discovery of Chancellor Palpatine’s true identity as the Sith Lord Darth Sidious.
