Frequently asked questions

How many rides does Magic Kingdom have?

Magic Kingdom has more than 20 rides, and over 40 attractions in total once you count the shows, parades and character experiences, spread across six lands. That is the highest count of any park at Walt Disney World.

How long do you need at Magic Kingdom?

A full, well-planned day gets most people six to ten rides once you account for queues, food and the size of the place. Two days lets you slow down and fit the shows in. One day works if you arrive for opening and stay disciplined.

What are the best rides at Magic Kingdom?

We think Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are the ones you shouldn't skip.

What are the height requirements at Magic Kingdom?

The biggest thrills are TRON (122 cm), Space Mountain (113 cm) and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (97 cm). Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Tiana's Bayou Adventure sit lower, at around 97 cm and 102 cm. The classic dark rides, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, have no height requirement.

What is new at Magic Kingdom for 2026?

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad reopened in 2026 after a long refurbishment, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin returned with new vehicles, and Cinderella Castle is back in its classic blue and gold. Looking further ahead, a Villains Land and a Cars-themed area are both in development. The "What's coming" section on this page tracks it all.

When is the best time to visit Magic Kingdom?

May and September tend to be the sweet spots, and weekdays outside the US school holidays are quieter than weekends. Mondays are busier than people expect, as fresh arrivals head straight here.
