Main Street, U.S.A. is the first thing you see and the last thing you leave: a turn-of-the-century American town square that frames Cinderella Castle at the end of the road. Are there any rides on Main Street, U.S.A.?
Only the Main Street Vehicles and the Walt Disney World Railroad, and both are transport rather than attractions in the usual sense. Main Street's job is arrival: it frames the castle, sets the period and moves several thousand people a day without feeling like a corridor.
What time does Main Street open?
Usually before the rest of the park. Disney regularly lets guests onto Main Street ahead of official opening so the shops and coffee are available and the crowd is already inside when the lands open. It is worth arriving earlier than the published time for that reason.
Why does Main Street smell of sweets?
Because it is piped. The Main Street Confectionery makes sweets in the window and the smell is vented onto the street deliberately. It is one of the most quoted examples of Disney using scent as set dressing, and it works on almost everybody.
